January First Friday

  • The Orpheum Community Hub 500 2nd Street Southwest Albuquerque, NM, 87102 United States (map)

Gabriela Hernandez is a non-binary undocumented artist. She was born in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and migrated to the United States at the age of seven. Coming from a community that has been directly impacted by lack of healthcare access, immigration status, and economic disparity, she has found work most meaningful when creating towards the needs of impacted communities. Gabriela’s artwork aims to translate the stories and visions of community while creating a broader consciousness of how our varied and multiple identities impact cultural change. Through the years they have collaborated in different art pieces and organizing efforts with local and national organizations and events. We invite you to join us, One Albuquerque and ABQ Art Walk for the opening reception of ‘Joteria Undocumented: tierra, identidad, y transformación’ exhibition at the Orpheum Community Hub on Friday, January 3rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Refreshments will include FREE tacos by The Taco Guy and drinks from Safe House Distilling!
